The Coles Crossing Dads Club will host the 5th Annual Coles Crossing BBQ Cook Off on Saturday, October 28th, at the Lap Pool. If you have not attended before, please consider joining in for one of the best neighborhood events of the year. BBQ teams will compete in competition for Best Brisket, Best Ribs, Wild Card, People’s Choice and Grand Champion Events, with samples of all available to those attending. All ages will be entertained with live music, a kid’s Halloween Costume Contest, a kid’s dessert contest, face painters, and other activities.

Kid’s Dessert Contest

The Kid’s Dessert Contest will be held at the Cook-Off. Desserts can be made at home, and should be enough for 5 judges. Entry into the Kid’s Dessert Contest requires sign-up. (Sign-up here.)

Silent Auction

With the help of some key friends of ours like Learning Express, we will be having a Silent Auction at the Cook Off. We are raising money for one of our own Coles residents, a child named Bennett, and we are also raising money for an organization that has been very important for Bennett and his family, A Kid Again.

Please come by and see some of the great items supplied by Learning Express, Pinch A Penny Pool Patio Spa - Cyfair Town Center, La Vida Massage, and Fairbanks Liquor. (Thanks!!!) And don't forget to bid to win! (Check out the Silent Auction lots here.)

Our man Bennett

This year’s BBQ Cook Off will again support one of our neighborhood children Bennett Jefferson. Bennett is a Sampson Elementary first-grader who has been diagnosed with focal and generalized epilepsy as well as autism. Bennett is aware of his conditions but also understands how that makes him unique. He participates in Coles Crossing Youth Soccer and Cub Scouts and enjoys all things Star Wars.  Bennett requires extensive medical attention and testing, regularly visits a psychologist and participates in physical, occupational, speech and vision therapy.

If you have not attended before, please consider joining in for one of the best neighborhood events of the year where we join together for fun and to give back to Coles Crossing.
